Ruby Kennedy, a judge, can help people who are wanting to show, and also excels at working with people that just want more control over their horse. The clinic will be geared for Western and English riders. It will cover show techniques to help bring home the gold. This clinic will broken into 2 groups - 1 for beginners and green horses and the 2nd group for the more advanced, to help polish up for the show season.
Fees: 150.00 for 2 days and 15.00 per stall per day.

2008 JP Bell Cutting Clinic
Jordan, MN
May 24, 25 & 26, 2008
JP has been a champion in the cutting arena, past national director and 3A judge. JP brings his experience to riders of all levels and ages. 100% of JP's time and energy is devoted to helping horses & people come together to enjoy the "ultimate equine experience - cutting!"
The clinic will be dedicated to basic cattle handling, working your horse on a cow, and general horsemanship. Riders will be working live cattle & refining their skills on a cow machine. On the last day of the clinic, put what you learned to the test and ride in a show!

Saturday
9:00 a.m.
Introduction: Hear some background on JP, and each rider will give some background on what they would like to achieve in this clinic.
9:30 – 12:00
JP will show and discuss "Dry Work." Each rider will have the opportunity to work the Mechanical Cow. All the work done in this section will help prepare to work live cattle.

Each rider will have the opportunity to work the cattle individually, with JP coaching them through their work. (Round Pen work)

Discussion on arena etiquette and riding in the warm-up pen. Discuss positions of herd helpers and their job in the pen.
9:30
Work Cattle. Each rider gets to work individually. Each rider also gets the opportunity to work in hold-back positions.
12:00 to 1:00
Lunch on your own
1:00 – 5:00
Work live cattle. Work on showing techniques, discuss scoring and when to quit a cow!
May 26
Monday
10:00 a.m.
It’s Show Time – Put what you learned to the test!
We will draw names for working order in each class rider is eligible for. Each run will be judged & videotaped. Tapes and score sheet can be reviewed after the cutting.
BBQ Lunch will be provided
Awards handed out to class winners!!
